CLYDEBANK police officers seized a large quantity of alcohol from a group of youths at the weekend.
Twenty-one cans of Dragon Soop, two bottles of MD 20/20, a bottle of Buckfast tonic wine, a bottle of Echo Falls white wine, and nine cans of Strongbow dark fruits were taken off the youngsters, who were described as being “well below the legal age of alcohol consumption”.
The youths were drinking at the Greenside Reservoir, situated at the top of Cochno Road.
They were also seen swimming in the burn, despite repeated warnings about swimming there.
Officers said there will be more patrols in the area with summer approaching, and parents should be aware of where their children are.
Police are also identifying where the alcohol is being purchased from.
