FAIFLEY Colts Boys Club that existed in the 1970s and 80s are holding a re-union for ex-players.

The football team was run by local parents in the area in order to provide the kids with some entertainment, and keep them off the streets.

More than 100 people have already signed up, including some from abroad, to attend a reunion and re-visit their youth.

Organisers are appealing for others who used to play with the team to join them in Sixty Ate Bar and Kitchen on Dumbarton Road, on July 19, at 8pm.

A golf event will take place earlier that day in Clydebank District golf club.

And on Sunday, July 21 there will be a five-a-side tournament at Goals for all ex-players to enjoy a game of football.

The teams started from boys under nine years of age and had teams in each category up to under 14 level. Most members will now be in their 50s.

The Colts had a number of successes and a few of their members went on to play at a higher level or at professional football level.
