A PERVERT who shared indecent images of children on Twitter has avoided jail.
Gareth Gillies was instead ordered to carry out 130 hours of unpaid work.
The 39-year-old was snared at his home in Glasgow's Knightswood last April.
Police went on to find 17 sick photos on his mobile phone.
It also emerged he had used Google to search for child porn.
Gillies was today sentenced having earlier admitted at Glasgow Sheriff Court to possessing indecent images.
The court heard police got a tip off that Gillies had uploaded photos of children to Twitter.
Officers later swooped on his home - he was initially not there.
But, when he turned up, his Samsung phone was seized.
Prosecutor Alistair Shaw said: "It contained 17 images with children between the ages of five and 15.
"They were in a folder called 'screenshots'."
Despite the discovery, sick Gillies made no comment.
Gillies was also put on the sex offenders register.
