MORE than £3,000 has been raised for Golden Friendships thanks to around 100 people taking part in a sponsored walk.

The money raised will be going towards purchasing the 543 Club.

Jim McLaren, founder of the charity, said: “The walk was fantastic. I couldn’t be any more proud as the weather was horrendous and everyone still took part.”

Fifteen people walked to the bandstand and around 85 made it to Loch Humphrey, from Dalmuir on Sunday, March 24.
