A TOTAL of £2.3 million worth of drugs have been seized from a property in Clydebank.

Police acting under warrant, searched a property in McCreery Street and discovered a large quantity of drugs.

More than 41 kilos of cocaine, a significant quantity of diazepam tablets, a kilo of heroin and just over 14 kilos of cannabis was seized by officers.

Two people, a 30-year-old woman, and a 45-year old man, were arrested and have been charged in connection with the recovery.

Detective Sergeant Nicky Beattie said: “This substantial recovery shows our commitment to disrupting drug activity and supply in our local communities.

“This seizure ensures that £2.3 million worth of drugs will not be distributed on our streets. Drugs cause real devastation to people’s lives and the wider community. The public can be assured that targeting drugs and tackling those involved in criminality remains a priority.”

Argyll and West Dunbartonshire Police Division revealed today that both of the accused were due to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Monday, March 11.

Anyone with concerns regarding ongoing drug crime in their local area can contact police on 101 or make an anonymous report to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
