A SERIES of new events will provide exclusive access to some of the most exciting and interesting businesses in Dunbartonshire.

Dunbartonshire Chamber of Commerce will host a series of “showcase” events designed to share valuable insights into some of the most successful businesses in the area including tours of the premises.

The first of the events will take place next week on Wednesday, March 27 at Glenhead Engineering - an innovative and award-winning engineering company headed up by operations manager Sharon Colvan who provides leadership for the business in one of the UK’s most male-dominated sectors.

Under Sharon and the management teams’ stewardship, the business has increased its turnover more than ten-fold from £300k in 2006 to £3.5m in 2018.

Glenhead now has over 600 customers, with engineered components being exported to Russia, Norway, EU, Kuwait, India, UAE, Algeria and USA.

The wide range of services and products take in precision engineering, the manufacture of parts for life sciences, gas and wind turbines and fault testing for sub-sea.

Damon Scott, chief executive, Dunbartonshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “Our showcase events are designed to inspire and inform by giving businesses the opportunity to hear the hosts’ business story, and learn about best practice that they can take back to their own company.”

“Across the programme we will hear about leadership, staff development, developing the young workforce, funding and investment, sustainability, efficiencies and productivity to mention a few areas of interest.

“The Glenhead Engineering event is a great example as it covers most of these themes and I am really looking forward to hearing Sharon give an insight into the company’s business journey before taking guests on a tour of the facilities.”

Guests will also have an opportunity to network on arrival over a buffet lunch.
