GLASGOW Anniesland MSP Bill Kidd met with three young apprentices to hear about the benefit of training schemes.
As part of the recent Scottish Apprenticeship Week, Mr Kidd met with Sophie Campbell, Robert Magee and Kerry McDougall at RiteHomes letting and factoring.
The three young people said they were enjoying the opportunity to do training as modern apprentices and hoped it would kick start their careers.
Mr Kidd said: “With 28,000 people benefiting from the modern apprenticeship scheme this year and a target of 29,000 in the coming year the Scottish Government are well on course to reach our target of 30,000 modern and graduate apprenticeships by the year 2020.
“But in coming in to see Sophie, Kerry, and Robert at ‘RiteHomes’ it puts a personal face on the 28,000 people benefitting from the scheme. You get to see how well it is working both for the company and for young people involved and how well Skills Development Scotland have brought this all together.”
