ANNUAL memorial services are to be held in the coming days for the lives lost in the Clydebank Blitz.

On Saturday, March 9, at 11am there will be a service held at the Blitz Memorial, located in Dalnottar Cemetery.

Afterwards, at 11.30am, there will be a wreath laying ceremony at the Solidarity Plaza.

And an annual interdenominational memorial service to commemorate the 78th anniversary of the Clydebank Blitz will be held in the Blitz Chapel located within Kilbowie St Andrews Parish Church on Wednesday, March 13, at 11am.

The services mark the anniversary of the start of two nights of bombings of Clydebank, on March 13 and 14, 1941, that left 528 men, women and children dead, 617 seriously injured, and tens of thousands homeless.

All are welcome to attend.
