A FUNDRAISER set up for a popular Drumchapel man found dead has smashed its target in only four hours.

Dean Shades was discovered by police inside a property on Carolside Drive, in Drumchapel at 12.30am on Sunday morning.

Officers confirmed that they are not treating the death as suspicious.

A GoFundMe page set up in tribute to Dean has raised over £3,800, smashing the £1,500 goal set.

The page says: “It’s in deep sadness I’m writing this. RIP DEAN SHADES you were a brilliant wee guy with all your antics and banter.

“You put a smile on everybody’s face. Everybody has their own special memory of you. At this tragic time for Alison and Mick and family we need to give this wee guy the send of he deserves. YNWA xx”

Friends, family and members of the public have flooded social media with tributes, including newly appointed Celtic boss Neil Lennon.

In a video, Lennon says: "This is for Dean's family. I'd like to pass on my condolences, it must be a hard time for you. You'll never walk alone. Only one Dean Shades."

Morgan Halfpenny said on a Facebook post: "Can’t believe I've woke up to this news today. We all say people were one in a million but Dean Shades you were truly that. The funniest boy I’ve ever come across, what a mark you’ve left on us all."

Alana Little said: "Horrible news to wake up to, rip to one of my funniest friends Dean Shades. Devastated doesn’t even come close, shine bright Deano."

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "At approximately 12.30am on Sunday, March 3, the body of a 25-year-old man was found. Officers were called to a property on Carolside Drive, in Drumchapel, Glasgow.

“Officers are treating the death as not suspicious. A post mortem will take place in due course. Report will be submitted to procurator fiscal."
