A BOISTEROUS crowd is expected at the town hall to talk football this week — and that is just the panel of pundits who will be fielding the questions.

Old Firm heroes Andy Walker and Derek Johnstone — along with sports writer Hugh Keevins and broadcaster Peter Martin — were playing it for laughs when they met up to promote the charity night.

They will be joined by Celtic men Neil Lennon and Danny McGrain, ex Rangers stars Ally McCoist and Alex Rae, Stevie McLaren of Clydebank FC, and radio funnyman Tam Cowan when “A Pie, a Pint and a Pundit” kicks off on Friday night.

The night will raise cash towards building the Davie Cooper Centre — a facility for disabled children planned for a site off Great Western Road — and for the Drummore School in Drumchapel for children with learning difficulties.

Lisa Monaghan, a teacher at Drummore and the daughter of Hugh Keevins, organised the night. She has been inundated with offers from kind people and businesses in Clydebank and beyond to help out.

Lisa told the Post: “We’ve had a lot of offers coming in from here, there and everywhere.

“We have someone to supply pies for everyone and there will be a lager for every person as well.”

Prizes have been donated by Auchentoshan Distillery in Mountblow, Drumchapel’s Edrington Group and the town’s ASDA.

Clydebank MP John McFall also donated a House of Commons bottle of whisky and there are prizes from the Boulevard Hotel.
