Pupils in Clydebank will become the first in Scotland to be taught about domestic abuse.
Police are creating the first ever educational presentation to teach secondary school pupils about the upcoming law change for domestic abuse offences.
The tailored presentation is currently being produced by West Dunbartonshire police division in partnership with the Youth Alliance and the Champions Board.
This new educational resource will explain the new domestic abuse legislation, which will make all domestic abuse towards a partner, whether psychological or physical, a criminal offence.

The legislation is due to come into force on April 1 this year, and the police are currently undergoing training which explains how it will change the way they deal with domestic abuse offences.
A spokesperson for West Dunbartonshire Council said: “We are working with Police Scotland, the Youth Alliance and the Champions Board to host several events with children and young people, educating them on the devastating impact of domestic abuse and promoting positive behaviour and relationships to the next generation.”
