A MAN entered the Ladbrokes store in Hardgate last night and threatened staff with a gun.

The assault followed an earlier incident in Bearsden and police have confirmed the same man is responsible for both.

During the first incident, which occurred at around 7.15pm, the suspect entered the Scotmid Store in Ledi Drive, Bearsden, and threatened staff with what officers have described as a 'firearm'.

No-one was injured and no shots were fired, but the suspect made off with a three-figure sum of cash.

The second incident occurred at around 9.15pm when the same man, still in possession of a firearm, entered Ladbrokes on Glasgow Road, Hardgate, Clydebank, and threatened staff.

No-one was injured and no shots were fired, while the suspect again made off with a second three-figure sum of cash.
