CLYDEBANK'S new Community Sports Hub in Whitecrook is to host Scotland's national players next week in an open training session.

The team, along with the Scotland U20 players, will try out the facilities on February 13 with head coach Gregor Townsend and former Scotland and Glasgow Warriors captain Al Kellock.

Fans to the sold-out event will also have the opportunity to meet some of the Scotland squad after training for autographs and photos.

The training session, which is set to run from 10.30am until 1.30pm, will last around one hour with an opportunity to mingle with the players thereafter.

A Scottish Rugby spokesperson, said: “We’re really looking forward to next week’s open training session.

“It means a huge amount to us all that the national team has such committed support and we’re delighted to be training in Clydebank, where the old playing fields have been transformed into a fantastic facility for a range of sports and activities.

“Hopefully those who come along will get a useful insight into the hard work it takes to reach and retain a place in a squad at this level, and the lengths to which the players go to do their best in the time they have in this privileged position.”
