A CLYDEBANK man who threatened police with violence has been allowed to remain in the community.

Mark Orr, 43, of Low Crescent, Whitecrook, behaved in a threatening or abusive manner at his home on June 9, 2018. He was swearing, acting in an aggressive manner and making threats of violence towards police officers.

Orr had also been put on bail at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on June 11 last year, with the condition that he would appear at court when ordered to.

Last Wednesday he also answered the charge that he had failed to appear at court on August 27, 2018.

Sheriff Maxwell Hendry told Orr: “You have stayed out of trouble and you deserve some credit for that.”

Orr was put on a community payback order with 12 months of supervision. He was ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work, within three months, as a direct alternative to prison. He was admonished on the charge of failing to appear.
