A US Zumba sensation will be offering a masterclass in Clydebank later this month - encouraging residents to dance their post-Christmas blues away and kick-start their 2019 fitness.

Loretta Bates will be in Clydebank Leisure Centre on Friday, January 25, from 6.30-8.30pm.

Based in Miami, Florida, Loretta is hailed as ‘the face of Zumba’ which is a combination of choreography including hip-hop, samba, salsa and mambo, and has participants having fun while shedding pounds and getting fit.

Loretta is an international fitness presenter and Zumba education specialist who regularly features in Zumba training videos and often adorns the cover of their fitness DVDs and games.

Mags Bennet, 38, from Renfrew has been a Zumba instructor for the past 8 years and organised the special one-off event in Clydebank Leisure Centre due to it having the “best facilities.”

Mags told the Post: “I am so excited! This is a very rare occurrence as Loretta is ‘the best.’ Zumba hasn’t had an event this big for years in the West. It’s usually in the East so I decided to make it happen and bring it here for everyone.

“If you like Zumba, you must come as it is right on your doorstep and Loretta is who instructors look up to, who we learn from and who we aspire to be. We’re absolutely thrilled to be bringing Loretta all the way from the United States.

“Her energy is infectious and her ability to get you up and moving is the best way to dance off any overindulgence from Christmas. This is certainly an event not to be missed, so get your tickets now and let’s make 2019 the year for dancing fit.”

The event is open to all, regardless of age or abilities.
