Clydebank RFC hosted Helensburgh in West Division 2 at the Clydebank Community Sports Hub on Saturday but the visitors took the maximum points home with a 31-19 win.

Bank took the lead against the run of play after 15 minutes but Burgh then turned their dominance into points and at half-time the score was Clydebank 7 Helensburgh 17.

In the second half, Burgh got their bonus point score when they picked up from a scrum and ran in from close range.

With 10 minutes to go, the home side began a mini comeback when David Warden finished off some sustained pressure to score. David Miller then sliced through the midfield off a first phase back move to score under the posts to give the Red and Blacks a glimmer of hope.

But solid defence from Burgh and some poor handling from Bank meant that the attacks fizzled out.

Clydebank remain in fifth with games in hand, so will look to improve their position in the coming weeks.
