EMPLOYEES at a Drumchapel pet store have helped raise more than £1 million for a charity’s ‘Santa Paws’ appeal.

A total of £1,704,362 was raised by Pets At Home stores across the country for their charity Support Adoption For Pets.

Every year it helps rehoming centres and pet rescue organisations through grant funding and support and runs dedicated adoption centres in Pets at Home stores.

During the appeal, customers shopping in store were given the opportunity to donate 50p to help provide a dinner for pets spending Christmas in a rescue centre.

Gordon Wallace, Drumchapel store manager, said: “What a fantastic result, we had so much fun raising money and are so grateful to all of our generous customers for taking part and donating much needed funds.

“It’s great to know that this money will go towards helping charities keep abandoned pets healthy and happy until they find a permanent home.”

Amy Wilson, Support Adoption For Pets fundraising manager, said: “We would like to thank everybody who donated in Drumchapel.

“Your help has brought a wagging tail and a happy Christmas to the lives of pets who need it most.”
