AN ENERGY firm founded in Clydebank has invested £1.8million in creating a new billing system designed to provide customers with greater transparency and easier to understand bills.

Together Energy designed the system in-house, but they have already rolled it out to their customers - and they have reported great results from the project.

Now, the company is now planning to release the software for sale to other energy suppliers.

Paul Richards, CEO at Together Energy, said: “When customers receive their new bills, they might not register much difference. However, the investment is in the back-end operation which enables us to provide a faster customer experience. It will help with recording readings and importantly will enable us to have better forward forecasting.

“We’ve been working on this new software for a number of months and it’s been a huge undertaking for the business. We’re very confident in its capabilities and have already received enquiries from other providers keen to purchase it.”

The move comes as Paul announced his new leadership team.

Paul added: “We’ve grown at a substantial rate and currently have 60,000 customers so it’s vital that we have the right team in place to take us from essentially a start-up to a high street challenger brand.

“Our team has an exceptional skill set and we have ambitious plans going forward.”

Donald McIntyre, who has a previous career in finance, and who hosts a number of non-executive directorships, has been appointed commercial director whilst David Stroud, who was formerly chief operations director with Newcastle-based Future Energy, is now director for strategy.

Josh Montgomery becomes director of trading and joins financial director, Graeme Toolin and Gavin Baillie, director of partnerships.
