Dalmuir Park Housing Association recently celebrated the end of its 40th year in operation.

The housing association, the first in Clydebank and one of the earliest created in Scotland, was formed in 1977.

It currently owns and manages 689 homes and provides factoring services to 174 owners, including two sheltered housing complexes and 25 shared ownership homes.

Dalmuir Out of School Care Group - an out of school service for almost 100 local children - is also run by the Association.

To mark the occasion, Christmas hampers were presented to three tenants, all of whom have been with the association for many years, one being Geraldine Cannon.

Vice Chair Craig Edward said: “It has been a challenging year for the association, but I’m pleased that we are able to recognise and say thank you to some of our tenants who have been with us a long time. Geraldine has been a tenant since the early 1980s and lived in two different homes during that time. It’s great that we can continue to support local residents to live in a community they belong to.”

Geraldine said: "I am delighted to receive this gift from my association. I’m very happy in my local community and get a great service from Dalmuir Park Housing Association. My family have all grown up in the Dalmuir community and really enjoy living here. We have great memories of living in the tenement flats – so spacious for a family.”
