SCHOOL children at Our Lady of Loretto Primary enjoyed a fun and festive pantomime treat before finishing up for Christmas.

Primary one to seven pupils were entertained by Hopscotch’s witty pantomime ‘Beauty and the Beast’, a creative adaptation by Hopscotch’s Artistic Director Ross Stenhouse.

All the kids were said to have “thoroughly enjoyed” the show that starred Calum Beaton, Brodie Cummins, Gill McGowan and Chris Honey.

Stephanie Black-Daniels, Hopscotch’s general manager of the theatre company, said: “It’s a fantastic opportunity for our actors to perform in front of a really excited audience, especially at this time of year.

“It’s something that schools really enjoy and it is so important that young people have the opportunity to be part of such an exciting theatrical experience.”

Hopscotch has been performing across Scotland with ‘Beauty and the Beast’ since November 9 with three different teams of actors and will be out until January 18.

The Theatre Company has been touring schools, nurseries and venues across Scotland for 26 years, providing fun and educational theatre performances for young people.

Previous shows have included panto favourites Aladdin and Sleeping Beauty. See hopscotch -theatre.com for more details about what they do, and for future shows.
