CHILDREN across Scotland will have access to healthy and nutritious food during the Christmas school holidays, who may not have otherwise.
More than 7,000 children from low income families will benefit from the meals thank to Cash for Kids and the Scottish Government.
The Scottish Government has invested an additional £100,000 in the charity to support community projects across the country that will provide food as well as activities.
Aileen Campbell, communities secretary, said: “We know it can be a struggle for families to provide affordable healthy food and fun activities for children during school breaks.
“No child should be going hungry, but we know that costs can rise in the school holidays – particularly around Christmas.
“This extra support will make a huge difference to children and their families across the country.”
