POLICE urge shoppers to be vigilant after a purse was stolen from a 79-year-old woman while she was in Clyde Shopping Centre.
Between 11.50am and 12.05pm on December 12, a thief lifted her purse from her bag when she was in the Card Factory shop.
Police were contacted and attended before recovering the purse from a bin in the ladies’ toilets.
A total of £162 was missing from within.
In a separate incident, only a day later, a 67-year-old man had his wallet stolen near to the EE shop.
He was in buying a mobile phone cover and when he went to get his lunch, he discovered his wallet missing from his possession.
Police are carrying out enquiries and remind everyone to be vigilant when shopping.
