LOVED ONES who have passed away were remembered as St Margaret of Scotland Hospice held their popular Light up a Life Appeal recently.

Those taking part sponsor a light on the Hospice’s Christmas tree to honour the memories of departed friends and family.

The lights on the tree will remain lit continuously until Saturday, 6 January.

A Light Up A Life Service took place on Sunday, December 2 at the Hospice on East Barns Street.

A mixture of carols and readings took place.

Sister Rita, St Margaret of Scotland Hospice Chief Executive, said:“The Light Up A Life Service was a very poignant and peaceful occasion for everyone connected with the Hospice.

“We believe it is very important at this time of year to give members of the community the opportunity to commemorate their loved ones at the service.

“The service was very well attended and we would like to say how grateful we are to all those who took part. Thank you also to the staff and volunteers who perform such a vital role in assisting the Hospice in conducting the Light Up A Life Service.

“We would like to wish everyone in the community a happy and peaceful Christmas and a prosperous New Year.”
