A FUNDRAISING Christmas fair held at Carleith Primary School in Clydebank proved to be a real cracker.

There was an abundance of festive jollity as pupils, parents and staff pulled out all the stops to welcome visitors.

The school hall was decorated to add to the festive theme and an eye-catching selection of Christmas jumpers was evident as kids and parents enjoyed the fun occasion.

The facepainting stall was also popular with the younger kids.

Arty youngsters took pride in showing off their Christmas-themed artwork which added to the colour in the hall.

An attractive selection of craft items, made by members of the local community and by pupils, were up for sale and these were quickly snapped up by people looking for Christmas gifts.

Locals also generously donated prizes for a raffle, which helped bring in the funds and, at the end of the day, £1,004 was raised.

Principal teacher Lauren Inglis told the Post: “The fair is an annual event organised by the parent hub and, once again, it was a great success.

“The money raised was an amazing amount and will help pay for buses to take the children on school trips and it will also provide various other opportunities for them.

“We are very grateful to everyone whohelped, from the parents and locals for supporting us to the parent hub for doing the organising.”

Staff and pupils are now looking forward to the holidays which start on December 21.
