RESIDENTS of Drumchapel gathered at the weekend to get into the festive spirit.
A Christmas tree was placed outside the shopping centre at B&M for the lights to be officially switched on at 5pm on Saturday (December 1).
Families who turned up took part in community carol singing around the tree, led by members of the Drumhub Singers community group.
Many of those who attended the event brought candles with them to add to the special festive atmosphere.
Alison Cox from Drumchapel Community Council said: “It stayed dry for the turning on of the Christmas lights, the Drumhub Singers were in fine voice - and there was a really good turn out.
“Well done to everyone who took part!”
Free hot drinks were provided to everyone who attended, and special guests Santa, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse all made an appearance to meet the gathered youngsters.
