RESIDENTS and community leaders in Duntocher marked the end of the First World War on Sunday.
A remembrance service was held at the war memorial within Goldenhill Park on Roman Road to remember those of the armed forces who died in the line of duty.
MSP Gil Paterson, MP Martin Docherty-Hughes, council leader Jonathan McColl and area councillors were among those to lay wreaths.
Gil Paterson said: “This is always a poignant time of year and this year especially so, being the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War.
“The brutal wartime devastation inflicted on Clydebank was a blow to the very fabric of our community, but the people of Clydebank showed remarkable resilience and strength so, as we remember and commemorate those who made the ultimate sacrifice, the emotion of this time brings us closer together.”
