POLICE are increasing their presence around St James Retail Park in Dumbarton to combat acts of disorder and violence.

Uniform and plain-clothes officers started targeting the area earlier today after problems in recent weeks. It follows the shopping district being previously blighted by youth disorder.

Inspector Roddy MacNeill said: "Those involved will be arrested regardless of age and measures will be sought preventing such individuals from returning. Anti-social behaviour legislation will be utilised if required.

"Please be aware of where your children are and if in this area please ensure they are not involved in any disorder which impacts negatively on those visiting and working within the retail outlets."

Anyone with concerns or wishing to report information is asked to contact police on 101.
