A CLYDEBANK couple have recently celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with a meal at the Beardmore Hotel.
John and Beatrice Blake met at a house party in September 1966 in the home of entrepreneur Duncan Bannantyne’s sister Helen.
Her parents were away for the September weekend and she hosted a party and the pair met there for the first time. They married two years later, on August 16, 1968, and moved into their first home together in Burns Street, Dalmuir.
Now living in Parkhall, John and Beatrice have two children, John and Anthony, and three grandchildren, Victoria, Rebecca and Aaron.
They have been on roughly 20 cruises and still enjoy taking to the high seas together with more trips planned.
Provost William Hendrie visited John and Beatrice at their home to give them his congratulations on their special anniversary.
