PRIMARY school pupils across the area have been enjoying an original musical production produced by a Clydebank charity.

The musical theatre show, “A Great Big Calling”, consists of an original script and music written by members of the charity FireCloud.

Established 11 years ago by Suzanne Bunniss, the charity, based in the church house at Our Holy Redeemer in South Bank Street, inspires people to use their talents to create a better world.

Their touring show, performed by cast members Aimee Coutlas, Sam Begbie and Sophie Whoriskey, involves singing and dancing and follows the story of two young children on a hunt for their vocations in life.

Suzanne told the Post: “The show is all about what your purpose is and what is calling you. It encourages primary children to ask themselves what their life is about and what their great calling is.”

Pupils at Our Holy Redeemer, Our Lady of Loretto and St Stephen’s primary schools have all had a chance to watch the musical production and the cast are due to perform at St Mary’s and St Joseph’s primaries when the new term begins next week.

Teachers from Our Lady of Loretto praised the group.

They said: “The musical performance was uplifting, inspiring and energetic. The children left the experience singing and dancing and full of smiles.

“It was a very positive and spiritual time for staff and pupils alike.”

The charity, with Catholic roots, aims to build vibrant communities through faith, education and imagination.

Suzanne added: “I started up the charity for it to be about hope, and to have a space where people can come and use their talents. Somewhere they can use them and feel although their life is worth something.

“It was motivated by my faith. The whole idea was to encourage people to live with joy and purpose and to believe their life matters.”

Based in Clydebank, the charity also has a choir, a singing group and music group.
