A DOG who captured the hearts of Glaswegians after it was hit by two cars near the Kingston Bridge has died.

Devastated owner Sarah McKenzie made a desperate appeal to raise cash for Skye's vet bill, after it was revealed she would need to have her leg amputated following the ordeal on October 14.

But, it was revealed the dog passed away.

In a heartbreaking post on the Go Fund Me page, which raised more than £1,000 for the pup's treatment, Sarah wrote: "Rest in peace little baby girl, you are no longer in pain."

Supporters were quick to share their condolences with the family.

One wrote: "I'm so sorry your baby girl didn't make it.

"I've lost two boys in a short space of time and it has crippled me to ruin.

"Some people just don't understand how attached we get to them. They are our children.

"My deepest condolences and if you need anything towards her cremation and an urn, I'm pretty sure we will all be happy to help. My love to you all. RIP Skye."

Another added: "So sorry to hear your sad news, big hugs to you & your family."

As the Evening Times reported yesterday, Sarah launched a heartbreaking appeal to help have her "happy, bouncy girl" back after she escaped her harness while out a walk.
