THE FULL business case for the new Clydebank Health and Care Centre was approved by the board of the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde yesterday.

The next and final stage of developing the state-of-the-art centre is to submit the full business case to the Scottish Government Capital Investment Group for consideration next month.

If that is approved, the centre will include GP surgeries, district nursing, health visiting, a pharmacy team, podiatry, dieticians, physiotherapy and a hone care team.

Beth Culshaw, chief officer at West Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care Partnership, said: “The national transformation of primary care means that this project is not about a simple replacement of an existing facility.

“It is about taking the opportunity to create a centre where the people of Clydebank can expect to be supported by a wide range of professionals, closer to their home, and be enabled to live healthier, more independent lives.”
