ELDERLY women have been targeted by thieves while shopping in a charity shop in Clydebank.
Two separate incidents in the Cancer Research UK store have been reported to the police within the space of a week.
The incidents took place on two successive Saturdays in the store at the Clyde Shopping Centre, Sylvania Way.
Last week, the Post reported that a 70-year-old felt someone bang into her while she was shopping between 12.30pm and 1pm.
The lady didn’t think anything of it until she later noticed her purse was missing.
The incident was reported, and the purse was then found in the store by staff with £14 in cash missing from inside.
And on October 13, a 66-year-old female was in the store shopping with her sister.
After she left, she went into another nearby store, where she realised her purse, which had £50 cash inside, was missing from her handbag that was over her shoulder.
She told police she felt another female very close to her whilst she was within the charity shop.
Police are now following a positive line of enquiry.
