Braehead Shopping Centre showed its support for Autism Hour Week today by dedicating an hour to a quieter shopping experience this morning.
The busy shopping centre got on board with the campaign, which was launched by the National Autistic Society, by dedicating an hour between 10am and 11am this morning to a calmer shopping environment for those with autism.
Along with the lights being dimmed, intu Braehead also reduced the noise within the store, turning town tannoy annoucements and music throughout the centre.
We're supporting Autism Hour! Tomorrow, Tuesday 9 October from 10am-11am we'll be turning down music, dimming the lights & sharing information about autism with employees & customers.

Snow Factor also gave their support by setting up special quiet sledging sessions, where slope music was switched off.
Information about autism was given to staff at the centre in advance so that they knew what to expect from customers and how they could help with any issues during the hour.
