CHARITIES and community groups in Clydebank and north-west could be in with a chance of receiving a five-figure sum to support their organisation.

Glasgow Airport’s FlightPath Fund will give a lump sum of £25,000 to a group based in one of the local areas which currently fall under the airport’s flightpath.

Archie Hunter, the funds chairman, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to secure what is a significant financial contribution that will help make a real difference.

“Glasgow Airport’s FlightPath Fund continues to be a force for good in directly supporting a wide and diverse range of organisations across the west of Scotland.“

In addition to this lump sum, the fund has awarded more than £100,000 so far this year to more than 50 local groups and charities doing wonderful work in their communities and often providing vital care and support to some of our most vulnerable citizens.

“I’d urge the many local groups and organisations in the areas we serve, including those which have previously received FlightPath Fund support, to grasp this opportunity and submit an application.

“The £25,000 on offer really could make huge difference to the people they support.”

To be considered, a project must create a significant and sustainable benefit to the community, yield positive outcomes in at least one of the following areas: education, employment and the environment and benefit a significant number of people.

Apply by Friday, October 26 and provide clear evidence that the project will fulfil a local need and evidence of the financial viability of the project.
