The body of a woman, named locally as Jeanna Maher, was discovered at a property in Drumchapel yesterday.

Police rushed to the scene around 6.35pm and cordened off Dewar Drive.

The body of the 51-year-old mother of three was recovered.

Friends of Jeanna have been leaving tributes on social media. 

It is believed that the "vibrant" and "lovely lady" worked in Asda Bearsden, reports our sister paper The Evening Times

Lauren Hunter said: "R.i.p. jeanna gonna miss ur face, Asda won't be the same without u.....anyone who knew her would agree that she was one of the nicest people ever, would help anyone out and always had a smile on her face. I had the pleasure of knowing her almost 10 years and worked with her for 5 of those. Xxxx"

Brenda Tedford posted: "So sad I had the pleasure of knowing Jeanna from going to the Goodyear on weekends such a lovely person RIP Jeanna gone but never will be forgotten."

Police have yet to confirm the cause of death.

It is understood officers were seen removing items in evidence bags from a property.

Reports from the scene also said that officers were carrying out door-to-door enquiries.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.45pm on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, the body of a 51-year-old woman was found within a property on Dewar Drive, Glasgow.

“Emergency services attended and enquiries are ongoing.”
