ARMED robbers threatened Farmfoods staff before running off with a three-figure sum of money from the Knightswood store.

Police are appealing for information following the incident on Anniesland Road at around 6.35pm last night.

The two male robbers entered the store, threatened two male members of staff with weapons and demanded money.

They then ran off with a three-figure sum in the direction of Crescent Road.

The two workers were uninjured but "very frightened" by the experience.

Constable Lee McIntyre from the Community Investigation Unit at Govan Police Office said: “Luckily the two staff members were uninjured, but this was still very frightening for them, and the two men responsible need to be caught as soon as possible.

“At the time of the robbery, the area would have been very busy, and I would like to appeal to anyone who witnesses this robbery, or who saw these two men to come forward, as they may have information that is vital to this investigation.”

The first suspect is described as white, around 5ft 8 inches in height and of slim build and in his mid-20s. He was wearing a black hooded zipped top, black tracksuit trousers and black trainers. His face was covered by a black balaclava.

The second suspect is described as white, around 5ft 9 inches in height and of slim build and in his mid-20s. He was wearing a black hooded top with a white t-shirt underneath. He was also wearing black jogging trousers and black trainers. His face with covered by a black balaclava and carrying a black rucksack.
