POLICE are appealing for information on a robbery that took place at a Knightswood betting shop.

Around 9.50pm on Saturday, two women aged 22 and 38 were working in the Ladbrokes in Anniesland Road when a man entered, threatened them and made off with a three-figure sum.

He is described as Scottish, around 5ft 11 of slim build and had sallow skin. He was wearing a white zipped hooded top, dark denim jeans and white trainers. He had his hood up and tied round his face and was carrying a black rucksack with grey markings and a black bin bag wrapped around what is believed to be an item of sports equipment.

Detective Sergeant Robert Bowie, of the divisional robbery unit, said: “This robbery was terrifying for the two women who were working in the shop at the time. It is vital that we find the man responsible.

“Our officers are currently checking CCTV and making door to door enquiries, however we are appealing for anyone with any information to come forward and contact us.

“The man would have looked out of place prior to going into Ladbrokes, carrying a black bin bag and a rucksack. Do you remember seeing anyone in the area matching his description?“

Anyone with information is asked to contact police via 101 quoting incident number 4636 of August 4.
