Royal Mail are enhancing their customers online shopping delivery experience by creating an electronic version of the “Something for You” card.

The changes, currently being rolled out nationwide, will mean more information on the delivery progress of items including when it is ready for collection.

According to research carried out by the company, 62% of people think it is important to receive updates on the progress of their items throughout its delivery.

Missed items will be able to be collected from customer service points by using mobile devices and not having to present the “Something for You” card.

Re-delivery arrangements will also be quicker as customers will not need to be at home to get their card.

E-mail and SMS notifications that specify the address of the neighbour where items have been left when customers are not at home will also be sent out.
