Families in north-west Glasgow can enjoy more than 100 hours of free swimming sessions each week throughout the summer holidays as part of Glasgow Sport’s summer programme.

With at least six sessions taking place across the city every day of the school holidays, families can get active when the kids are off school and there’s energy to burn, said sports bosses.

Drumchapel Glasgow Club pools are offering one weekday, weekend, and evening session every week. Scotstoun pool closes to the public from July 23 until the end of August for the 2018 European Championships.

The city deal is open to all families - taking into account safety ratios - and there will be no proof of eligibility check required.

Clydebank Leisure Centre is letting pupils swim for £1 with their valid leisure card through until August 15 as part of their programme. There are further details on their summer activities at the centre on the West Dunbartonshire Council website.

Councillor David McDonald, depute leader of Glasgow City Council and chairman of Glasgow Life, said: “Every day of the summer holidays, families across Glasgow can enjoy free swimming sessions in every part of the city.

"We’re also counting down the days to the Glasgow 2018 European Championships and Festival 2018, which will see the city come alive with an incredible cultural celebration, with many free family events in the heart of the city.”
