A WHITECROOK man will be sentenced later this month for sending his former partner a series of unwanted text messages and phone calls.

Gary McKinlay, 23, of Davidson Street, pleaded guilty at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Friday, to engaging in a course of conduct between February 4 and 7 at a house in Milngavie Road, Bearsden.

The court heard that he caused his ex-partner to be put into a state of fear and alarm, knowing she didn’t want contact from him.

Prosecutor Arash Healing told how McKinlay repeatedly attempted to contact her at a flat in Milngavie Road by banging on the windows and shouting at her.

He repeatedly made phone calls to her and sent her text messages. He watched her through a glass door and repeatedly made calls to the victim’s mother.

At the time McKinly was on bail from Glasgow Sheriff Court, imposed on October 16, 2017.

Sentence was deferred until July 20 for background reports. Bail was continued.
