A FAIFLEY football team has replaced its kit lost in a laundrette fire at the beginning of the year.
Goldenhill Amateurs wore the sky blue and white stripped kit in a 1-0 Scottish Cup semi-final win against Bridgewater recently.
The club had lost all of their strips and some training jackets in a laundrette fire in January of this year, forcing them to borrow strips from a boy’s club.
After the team’s coach Stevie Dock had contacted the fire-hit Waschehaus on Duntocher Road without response, he faced the daunting prospect of raising £600 to replace the strips.
Following an appeal made by the Post, local businesses and football clubs came forward to help the team raise cash to replace the strips.
Team coach Stevie Dock thanked the sponsors for their support, including the Village Tavern, Respray Your Kitchen and Furniture, ATT Builders and Mexita.
