WEST Dunbartonshire schools and council buildings will stay closed until Monday, March 5.
The decision was taken by the local authority today following severe weather conditions.
The buildings will be shut to both staff and pupils, and early learning centres will also remain closed.
An amber warning is now in place but people are being warned not to travel unless absolutely necessary.
West Dunbartonshire Council said it will not collect bins today but has assured treating main roads is a priority.
A statement on the council's Facebook read: "Although the Red Weather Warning ended this morning, an Amber Warning is in place and has been extended to 10am tomorrow.
"Our Roads teams continue to work round the clock to keep our residents safe. Main roads are of course being treated as a priority, while accessing secondary routes is proving challenging.
"Piles of snow, cleared from roads, are gathering and causing obstructions. The advice remains the same – do not travel if it is not absolutely necessary. Thank you for your patience and understanding."
