ROCKIN’ around the Christmas tree might be the norm, but ewe wouldn't believe how much fun Our Holy Redeemer Primary had with their version.

The P1-3 classes of the Whitecrook school put on their performance of “Rock Around the Flock” this month to celebrate the season and tell the nativity story from the perspective of the shepherds.

And they were anything by sheepish. These show-stoppers were all smiles as the angels, wise men, the sheep, and Mary and Joseph, all joined in the fun.

As they follow the star to find the new-born king, they learn all about the magic and importance of Christmas.

There were four performances in total, including for nursery pupils and one for invited guests such as Provost William Hendrie and Councillor Marie McNair. But it was parents and friends who really flocked to this show.

The school told us: “It was very well received.”
