UPDATE: Normal water supplies have been restored to almost all affected properties in parts of the south west and west of Glasgow and the Renfrew area following a burst on a trunk water main early this morning - Scottish Water, 1.30pm.

HOMES through Yoker, Knightswood and Anniesland are reportedly affected by a burst water main this morning.

Residents in the G13 postcode and seven others in Glasgow and Renfrew have been left without water or reduced pressure because of the pipe burst in Argyll Avenue, Renfrew.

The other affected areas are G41, G43, G52, G53, PA1, PA3 and PA4.

A Scottish Water spokesperson said: "Our operatives are onsite looking at ways of introducing alternative supplies to restore and maintain customers water supplies.

"We understand and apologise for the inconvenience that this is causing customers this morning and will provide a further update on the progress of repairs as soon as more information becomes available."
