An animal welfare charity is seeking a new home for a lonesome goose in need of a gaggle of new friends.

The Scottish SPCA is hoping to rehome the bird - named Gary - as he’s been feeling lonely at its centre in Dumbarton where he doesn’t have a buddy.

Centre manager Joe McDade said: “We took Gary into our care in October. As much as we love him here at the centre, we are keen to find him a loving new home with some land and lots of friends to wander about with.

“Due to the monogamous nature of geese, Gary will require a mate or several new friends to spend his life with, otherwise he will take flight to look for a companion.

“These birds don’t get a good reputation for being the friendliest of pets however they do make good guard dogs.”

Anyone who can offer Gary a home is asked to contact the Scottish SPCA’s centre in Dumbarton on 03000 999 999.
