A MAN who made offensive comments to a disabled woman will remain in jail while awaiting his punishment.

Alexander Kennedy, previously of Glasgow Road, Clydebank, and now of Queens Park Hotel in Glasgow, had admitted shouting and swearing at the woman on March 12, this year. He also grabbed her phone from her.

The offence was aggravated by being against a person with a disability.

The 24-year-old appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court last week for sentencing but his defence solicitor said he was sentenced to 21 months in prison earlier in October and was currently working with an addiction programme within jail.

Sheriff Maxwell Hendry deferred sentence until December 27 to await progress on that front and any potential early release under curfew in December.
