SCOTSTOUN Pool will reopen on July 10 after its latest refurbishment, Glasgow Life has announced.

The 22-year-old venue closed in March for a £750,000 revamp to changing areas, pool and reception area.

A new entry system has been added where Fitness Unlimited customers will get self-serve wrist bands to act as their key as well as locker, doing away with the need for 20p pieces.

Pay as you go customers can also purchase a band for access to pre-paid activities and the lockers.

Glasgow Club, the sports arm of Glasgow Life, said the gates went active on Monday and asked customers to give themselves extra time to get used to the changes. The bands can be used across all facilities.

Scotstoun Pool previously shut for months to carry out upgrades in 2008 and shut for three months in 2009 to revamp it before the Commonwealth Games in 2014.

The pool was closed again during the October week holidays last year after an inspection found a technical issue.
