A CLYDEBANK woman who repeatedly hit her partner on the head as they left a local railway station has been jailed for seven months.
Deborah Douglas, 34, carried out the assault on a staircase at Dalmuir station on April 14.
Dumbarton Sheriff Court was told the couple had been arguing on the train, and that as they left the station, Douglas clung to her partner’s right arm before striking him.
Fiscal depute Jeanette Maclean said Douglas, of Overtoun Court, had been traced by police after her partner dialled 999 to report the assault and said that Douglas was responsible.
Brian McGuire, defending, said Douglas’s partner “knew how to press her buttons” and that she had lashed out after he said something “very insensitive” about her grandfather.
Douglas was jailed for three months for the assault, and for a further four on a previous charge of stealing a purse at Dalmuir Court in the town in July 2015.
