Mr Clark was reported missing from his home in Drumchapel in February when his family described his disappearance as “out of character”.
An appeal had been launched to find Mr Clark, who was last seen on February 20 on Garscadden Road in Glasgow.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “At around 11.25am on Saturday, March 21, police were called to a report of the body of a man found in a field in Bellsyde Avenue, Drumchapel. A post-mortem will be carried out in due course to establish the exact cause of death, however, at this time, there would not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.
“Although formal identification is still to take place, we believe him to be 56-year-old Joseph Clark. His family have been made aware.”
