The event saw the flag unfurled and the introduction of new office bearers and directors before members played a few ends.
Gary Earl, the club’s president, said: “It was a brilliant day, I was delighted with how everything went.
“There was a really big turnout and even the odd rain delay couldn’t get in the way of things.
“The place was really busy and there was still a good crowd late into the evening.” The opening day was made extra special for Gary as he was joined by his two-year-old daughter Jessica who, with the aid of her mum Fiona, threw the jack to get proceedings under way.
The tot is no stranger to offering support on the sporting front. Last year, the Post revealed little Jessica had become the youngest member of the Tartan Army at three-months-old.
Watching the Scotland football team in a major tournament may have to wait for Jessica but dad Gary felt Saturday’s bowling club opening was the start of what he hopes will be a successful season.
The 40-year-old said: “This is a very old club with a proud history and there is a wonderful team spirit.
“I am looking forward to a good season ahead.”
